Ubbergen – Illustrations for the purpose of the visual identity

Illustration design for the visual identity of the municipality of Ubbergen, the Netherlands. Commissioned by Graaffwerk Architects on the occasion of the renovation of the city hall of Ubbergen.

With a huge diversity of flora and fauna the municipality of Ubbergen belongs to one of the greenest areas in the Netherlands. The symbolic meaning of the animals and plants that live and grow in this area was used in the design of the illustrations. Each of the five illustrations therefore represents a core value of the munipality policy: swan–care, buzzerd–vision, tulip–faith, beetle–protection, peacock–pride.

The current logo mark of Ubbergen forms the base of each of the five illustrations. As a result, these illustrations can easily be combined with their existing visual identity.
